9/11 Truth Conference coming to Vancouver
Get your questions ready, all the experts are coming
By Michael Hey
|
Vancouver is this weekend hosting an international 9/11 Truth Conference. If this is news to you, it may be a sign that the mainstream media is still treading very carefully around the issue of 9/11. For organizers such as Wayne Prante and Drew Noftle, getting the word out has very much been an eighteen-hour-a-day grassroots effort, putting up posters, and firing off late-night email blitzes.
If, like many people, you have uneasy feelings about 9/11, then the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Conference is presenting you with an unprecedented opportunity to confront the experts with your most urgent questions.
For many, nagging doubts surround the mysterious disintegration of World Trade Center 7. Scholars, architects, and engineers have come forward with the shocking assertion that the official explanation violates the laws of physics. Foremost among them is physicist Dr Steven Jones, author of an academic, peer-reviewed study titled Why indeed did the WTC buildings completely collapse?
Dr Jones will be here to explain the physics behind the collapses.
Another aspect of that fateful day that has raised more than a few eyebrows was the US military’s inability, in an aerial drama spanning an hour and 40minutes, to intercept a single airliner before it met its target. The latest military explanation contends that the fault rests entirely with the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority), which failed across the board to alert the military of a single hijacking before it was too late to respond.
One insider to have disputed this claim of FAA negligence, coupled with incompetence, is Robin Hordon, former air traffic controller in Boston. He will be on hand to talk about routine procedures that are in place to avert disasters such as the one that occurred on September 11, 2001.
Perhaps the most mysterious flight of all was the fourth one, which did not hit its intended target. Eyewitness testimony suggests that this plane was actually shot down—a conclusion the military vehemently denies. An expert on this topic is Rowland Morgan, author of the book Flight 93 Revealed. He too will be speaking at the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Conference.
Many Canadians, despite having secretly harboured vague doubts about the official conspiracy theory alleging that 19 Muslim hijackers armed only with box cutters were able to outwit and defeat the entire US military, don’t feel a particular call to action. They believe that as horrible as this crime was, it doesn't affect them directly. We are, after all, a sovereign nation.
Ken Fernandez and Connie Fogal will be at the conference to argue to the contrary. No one will deny that 9/11 has been the pretext for a "war on terror" in which, through our role in Afghanistan, we have become deeply embroiled. However, beyond this ever-expanding war, the neo-con agenda also seems to include the grand vision of a totalitarian North American police state, comprised of Canada, the US, and Mexico.
Sound far-fetched? Not according to Fernandez and Fogal, who point to the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) agreement initially signed by Paul Martin, and expanded upon under Stephen Harper, as a clear sign that the wheels are in motion. It is possible that, as Canadians, we are sleepwalking through a very dangerous historical moment.
At the very least, it is fair to say that issues such as the impending North American Union (NAU), the possible merging of our currencies, and the staggeringly widespread use of depleted uranium, are completely off the radar, as far as the corporate mainstream press is concerned. This conference, therefore, represents an opportunity for Vancouverites to arm themselves with knowledge about topics that can otherwise only be accessed by scouring alternative media.
The issue of depleted uranium is of particular relevance because it involves the poisoning of our entire planet. Here to speak about this issue are Gulf War veteran Dennis Kyne, as well as the world’s leading DU researcher, Leuren Moret. Canada is the world's biggest producer of this cancer-inducing radioactive poison, more than 300 tons of which have been blasted into Iraq and Afghanistan.
At a highly-attended recent appearance, theologian and author Dr David Ray Griffin told a Vancouver audience that 9/11 truth and justice will not be brought about within the United States. The breakthrough must come from either Europe or Canada.
This conference is proof that the truth movement is alive and well in this country.
Perhaps it is time for Canadians to come to grips with the fact that 9/11 is affecting our daily lives more than we care to admit. Given the gravity of the crime, the sooner we get to the bottom of 9/11, the safer we will be. The organizers want everyone to know that this conference is about "reclaiming our destiny." Perhaps the time has come to do just that.
The venue is the Maritime Labour Centre, at 1880 Triumph street. For a complete list of speakers and events, please see v911truth.org/ conference2007.html

The Republic of East Vancouver supports no party, advocates
for no cause, represents no group, serves no master, and considers
problems with no preconceived notions. We hope to afflict the comfortable,
both materially and intellectually, and comfort the afflicted—of
both kinds as well, and we are trying to do both things at the same
time.
